Water mitigation is a term most people haven’t heard of unless they are faced with disastrous water damage in their home or business.  First of all, let’s look into why water damage is so destructive.

Water not only dissolves many compounds, but also dissolves more substances than any other liquid.  It is considered the universal solvent.  Without going directly into the science of the what makes up water, it basically dissolves almost any organic compound that doesn’t contain lipids (fatty organic compounds).  This means that with enough time it can dissolve many of the materials in your home such as flooring, drywall, and personal effects.  This is why mitigation is so important!
